The brand is very much a collaboration between Petra and husband Russell and a small dedicated team. The pair draw on their skills in textile design and Children's book illustration. Petra's inspiration comes from her vast collection of 1950's fabrics, knick knacks, ephemera and travel while Russell loves a good vintage comic! Discover more of my inspiration here.
A small Business with craft and sustainability at its heart, Petra Boase aims to bring a little bit of joy to the everyday.
Using in house eco-driven Risograph printing, the studio produces charming and essentially one-off cards and artworks alongside an eclectic and imaginative range of stationery goods, paper decorations, patches and stitch kits that are sold worldwide.
Rusty Studio is the creation of Petra's husband Russell. While the pair collaborate on all areas of the Petra Boase brand, Russell's distinct style felt like it needed its own hat. Find out more here.
Born with little patience, the ‘fast’ approach to crafting has always been my route. I love a simple project with a big end impact and a good dose of satisfaction thrown in. My post art school professional life was in the magazine and publishing world, styling and creating projects for a variety of books and magazines (there was also a BBC makeover tv show in the mix). My ideas tank was always full as briefs and deadlines were fast and Pinterest didn’t exist! Fast forward and the ideas are still brewing and when I have a flutter of seasonal making, baking or styling projects I love sharing them over on the blog.
