How To Apply Iron On Patches
Share
I’m a fast crafter at heart - I love a project that’s all about maximum joy for minimum effort.
That’s exactly what our iron-on patches are made for. With over 100 stylish patch designs plus retro alphabets and numbers to choose from, there’s something for everyone—kids, grown-ups and everyone in between.

The detailed embroidered fabric patches are perfect for brightening up old clothes, giving denim a new lease of life, or adding some personality and a splash of colour to school bags, gym bags and pencil cases.
The best bit? They’re so easy. Just iron them on or attach with a few stitches.
The patches are not just for clothes? Stick them onto journal covers, notebooks, diaries or phone cases with double-sided tape or glue, or pop one on a badge pin with a couple of glue dots for your very own one-of-a-kind fabric brooch.
Iron on Patch Q&A:
Can I Iron the Patch to anything?
If the surface eg a rucksack or sweatshirt can be ironed on then YES! But if it's synthetic fabric then NO you will need to apply it with a few stitches, we use our invisble thread.
How do I Iron on the patch?
Step 1 - Pick your patch (or patches) and choose the perfect spot/place it where you want the magic.
Step 2 - Remove the glue dot from the back of the patch.
Step 3 - Set the iron to the correct heat for the fabric you are applying the patch to. (Children ask a grown up!)
Step 4 - Warm up the fabric with the iron, pop your patch in place, cover with a light cotton cloth and press with firm pressure for about 30 seconds. Do not use the steam setting.
What if my material is unsuitable for ironing?
If the material is unsuitable for heat then they can simply be secured with a few hand stitches, we use our invisble thread.
What kind of thread can I use?
Any colour thread is fine but if you are worried about messy stitching showing up, why not use our very own invisible thread. I used the thread to hand sew on bat and googly eye patches on this vintage waistcoat.
Will they come off in the wash?
Machine wash at 30 degrees and do not tumble dry.
If the patch comes away from the fabric, simply give it another iron or secure it with a few stitches.
Will the colour run when washing?
No, don’t worry there will be colour transfer in the wash as all threads are colourfast.
Will the patches stick to anything else?
With a bit of imagination and a few glue dots or some double sided tape the patches can be added to any flat surface such as notebooks, journals, folders, diaries, phone covers, pencil cases… the creative opportunities are endless!
How can patches be turned into fun gifts or keepsakes?
