With a shared love of geraniums and scented pelargoniums, and a friendship spanning over four decades, it felt only natural to ask my dearest artist friend Nancy if we could adapt her geranium and pelargonium paint studies into a collection of Risograph-printed greeting cards to join our 'Grow' Collection. 'When I paint, I want to just get on with it and lay down my immediate response to the subject in colour: how it makes me feel, what the colours are doing. I want to paint things I love, that bring me joy'

The three geranium and pelargonium greeting cards have been taken directly from her sketchbook studies, captured before she embarks on her larger-scale painted canvas pieces. Visit Nancy's paintings and full story here.

From Paintings to Prints

To adapt the images for our eco Risograph printing process, the images were scanned and split into four colour channels. As we have a duo Risograph printer, we print two colours at a time. After the first pass, the prints are set aside to dry before being fed through for the next two colours — and this is when the true magic happens, as the colours come alive and final images form.
