The Journey of a Card-Film

When you are knee deep in a creative business it is often hard to come for air, reflect and celebrate achievements and big milestones. 2024 is a big year for this business as it marks 25 years since my first trade show (Top Drawer 1999) where I tentatively set up my stand with a few hand made creations! One of those creations was a small collection of embroidered felt greeting cards ( ordered at the show by Cath Kidston & The Conran Shop!) Greeting cards are still very much a thriving product in the business, so to celebrate this milestone I wanted to make a film about this humble but much loved product, so here it is The Journey of a Card  I hope you enjoy it!

I was introduced to Toy Soldier Films by my friend Charlie. Just starting out they made a short film on her business Vintage Velos. I loved the mood and intimacy of the film so was delighted when they agreed to work on my idea. Here are a few behind the scenes of our day making the film.

Colour is such a passion of mine so it felt fitting to celebrate with a jumbo bouquet of balloons supplied by my studio neighbour Deck it Out.

As I cycle to the studio everyday I wanted to include my trusty bike with the big bunch of balloons so off we went hunting for the perfect backdrop.

Loading up the props!

And camera roll! After a few wobbly attempts and laps around the square we got there!

A big thanks to everyone involved and for making my vision for this little film come to life.
