DIY Flower Bouquets

Supermarket & Foraged Blooms

I love giving flowers as much as growing them and every season brings a different twist but they always get wrapped in our signature pattern tissue papers and ribbons! While early spring is a bit barren with flowers in our garden/ allotment ( bulbs still hiding!) I mix in a pack of supermarket sweet smelling narcissus with whatever I can find in the garden. For the bouquet below I mixed in early prunus blossom, sprigs of bay and rosemary and gosh does it smell good.

We now stock Italian brand 'Piccolo' seeds, they come in the most gorgeous packaging, so as an addition to the bouquet I like to pop in a packet of the seeds, so once the flowers have withered the recipient has new growth to look foward to wherever they might sew them. A gift that keeps giving.

Gifts From The Plot

I love gifting from our city allotment, whether it's a bundle of courgettes wrapped up in ribbon or a bunch of picked flowers. At the moment its all about the dahlias and as I write (end of July) the beauties are popping out everyday. While I frantically pick the blooms, there are only so many vases I can fill at home so this is where the joy of gifting them comes in. Our luxury printed tissue paper does the job perfectly and I love mixing the the colours and patterns with the blooms, see below.

The Joy of Giving - Tissue Paper Wrapped Blooms.

1  Harvest or buy some flowers.

2  I am using 2 sheets of tissue paper in different colour combos and patterns and sparkly gold ric rac ribbon.

3  Place the 2 sheets of tissue paper wrong sides together. Fold up the corner as shown.

4  Position the bunch of flowers on the tissue paper.

5  Wrap the tissue paper around the flowers and secure with tape.

6 Tie a length of ric rac ribbon a few times around the base of the wrapped bouquet and tie in a bow.

Another lovely gifting idea for your blooms is to gift them in a vase, I am always rummaging in charity shops and car boots for quirky vases or containers to have on standby.
