A little bit of Fig Love

We part-inherited a very healthy fig tree on our allotment, and this year it has been weighed down with delicious fruits. I did a panic harvest last week as they were ripening before my eyes. We love a good curry at home, so I decided to go down the spicy chutney route. With 1.5kg of figs to play with, I thought I'd be inundated with jars, but no — three 250g jars is what it produced, with a little left over for immediate consumption. The verdict? Like mango chutney, it has a sweetness, but this recipe has a fiery kick!

On the subject of preserves I'm a big fan of cult jam busines  London Borough of Jam, I have loved following their journey from the very beginning and the Fig and Earl grey Jam is my favourite.

I had the most delicous Fig leaf ice cream the other evening at Cafe Cecilia in London, I couldn't find their recipe but this one looks pretty tasty!

I was once gifted a fig tree and while not as abundant as the allotment one is sits very happily in our garden, the gift that keeps giving!

The perfect card for any fig fan! and our best seller from the 'Grow' collection inspired by our city allotment. Risograph printed here in our Norwich studio.
