Sending a Little Love...

I have been working for Petra as her Studio Manager for nearly 6 years now and how things have changed in that time! One of the biggest was acquiring the Risograph Printer, which has been quite a journey! After a (very) sharp learning curve I had found a true love for this quirky and creative machine. Printing Petra’s wonderful designs has become one of the most challenging yet rewarding parts of my career so far.

A4 Risograph Heart Prints

These prints were inspired by the difficult time we are all facing and how important it is to “Send a little love” to the people we care about.

That is why we have made the decision to make them not for profit with the proceeds going to a charity that is very close to my heart, Headway Norfolk & Waveney.

Headway Norfolk and Waveney are a charity aiming to improve life after brain injury.

Each year over 6000 people are admitted to hospital in Norfolk due to an acquired brain injury or stroke.

It is the charities vision that anybody affected have an equal opportunity to reach their full potential. Headway support rehabilitation, independence and wellbeing through providing information and support services direct to people with a brain injury along with their families, carers and the wider community.

"Headway have been absolutely wonderful during this time, not only does Max’s key worker Mandy send over amazing packages which include word searches, comprehensions and sudokus, I also feel supported, heard and understood as Mandy takes the time to speak regularly with me too. I am incredibly appreciative of what Headway have done and what they continue to achieve despite these trying times"

Although Covid-19 has forced Headway to temporarily close their centres across Norfolk, they are still supporting clients through this difficult time. Support visits, regular phone calls, emails and packages are being sent to meet the needs of each individual. Alongside this, online workshops have been a huge success between support workers and clients.

Now, more than ever Headway’s practical and emotional support is vital to the community. Despite significant financial challenges, Headway are determined to continue supporting those affected by brain injury during Covid-19 and beyond.
