Painted Leopard Print Pots

We used Annie Sloans gorgeous chalk paints to up-cycle these old terracotta pots. This is a little project you could do at home which is fun, affordable and suitable for the whole family. Follow our step by step tutorial below to create your own bespoke pots.

Step by Step Tutorial - Painted Leopard Print Pots

Step 1: Prepare your pots - Dust them down and give them a good clean up. Make sure they are 100% dry before starting the next step.

Step 2: Choose your base colour and paint your first coat, leave to dry and then add further coats until you are happy with the coverage. Add splodges of your contrasting colour all over the pot - don't be too precise as these should look random. Allow to dry.

Step 3: Take a smaller brush and paint on your black outline detail. Again, don't be too precise here as the messy nature of the splodges adds to the finished look of the pots! Leave to dry.

Step 4: You can now coat the pots in a clear polish or a water based varnish so that the paint is protected. We used Annie Sloans Chalk Paint Lacquer

Whether you decide to use these as plant pots, pen pots or utensil pots they will brighten up any space. We would love to see all your creations so please tag us in your photos @petraboase
