"Stitch a Rainbow" Tutorial

A great little project to add a sign of optimism and positivity to clothing, bags, cushions or whatever takes your fancy!

You can make the rainbow as large or small as you like that’ll depend on what circular shape you use as your template. If you are stitching onto floppy fabric eg. a T-shirt you might want to use an embroidery hoop to keep the fabric taut.

What you will need...

Step 1: I used a 2p coin as my template and stitched on the pocket of my favourite wrangler jeans!

Draw around half of the coin with a removable fabric marker or chalk pencil.

Step 2: Decide on the choice of embroidery threads and the order you want to stitch them in. Start with the colour that will be the base of the rainbow and stitch on the marked line. I am using back stitch but chain stitch works well or a simple running stitch.

Step 3: Continue in the same way with each colour thread until you have your desired rainbow!
